Shelter

Shelter is an installation comprised of two bodies of work: Family Vessels, a collection of slip-cast vessels, and a series of hand-printed and embroidered tapestry works supported by a wooden frame in the shape of a house. Family Vessels acts as a physical representation of family and, in turn, how this informs identity. The tapestry works serve as a fabric that envelops the house to create a home, exploring how this can be both a comforting and suffocating presence in one’s life; yet a necessary shelter.
