Tiles

A series of engraved ceramic tiles finished with a transparent glaze, informed by feelings of nostalgia and homesickness. The work uses tone and texture to explore the effect of the passage of time across family lineages, and the translucent nature of both memory and personal relationships. These Tiles serve as a reliquary of family history, taking imagery from an archive of family photographs, postcards, letters, and birthday cards, transforming them into objects of endurance.
